Digital commerce increasingly requires retailers to coordinate customer-facing technologies, data governance, personalisation and physical fulfilment as an integrated service system. This conceptual study develops a comprehensive perspective on trustworthy digital commerce by examining the interdependence between customer experience design, responsible personalisation and fulfilment reliability. Drawing upon established research on digital customer experience, e-commerce trust, privacy, artificial intelligence and last-mile operations, the synthesis identifies five interconnected vulnerabilities: journey fragmentation, information asymmetry, algorithmic opacity, fulfilment variability and unequal digital access. The analysis demonstrates that sustainable customer value emerges when retailers effectively orchestrate touchpoints, strengthen transparency and consumer choice, govern intelligent technologies responsibly, ensure operational consistency and accommodate diverse user requirements. Five strategic implementation pathways are subsequently advanced, encompassing end-to-end experience architecture, privacy and security governance, accountable personalisation, integrated fulfilment visibility and inclusive digital design. Conceptually, the study integrates customer-facing technology, governance and operational execution within a unified framework, establishing that technological sophistication alone cannot overcome deficiencies in trust or fulfilment performance. Managerially, the framework provides a structured foundation for aligning marketing, information systems, logistics and governance capabilities toward sustained customer satisfaction, loyalty and platform legitimacy across increasingly complex and rapidly evolving contemporary digital retail environments.
