Digital Entrepreneurship in Medicine through Leveraging Technology to Improve Clinical Operations and Patient Engagement
Keywords:
Digital, Entrepreneurship, Medicine, Engagement, GovernanceAbstract
Digital entrepreneurship in medicine has emerged as a pivotal force in reshaping clinical operations and patient engagement as healthcare systems increasingly rely on data driven innovation and technology enabled service delivery. This study examines how digital entrepreneurial initiatives influence clinical workflow efficiency, diagnostic processes, coordination mechanisms and patient participation across diverse care settings. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing academic and industry evidence, the article identifies structural, organisational and behavioural dynamics that determine the effectiveness of digital innovation in modern healthcare. The findings reveal that digital entrepreneurship accelerates operational improvements when it is integrated with clinical priorities, aligned with workflow design and supported by strong governance structures. At the same time, significant challenges persist, including conceptual fragmentation, workflow misalignment, inequitable engagement, fragile digital business models and emerging ethical concerns surrounding data and artificial intelligence. The study offers a set of actionable suggestions that emphasise strategic coherence, socio technical integration, inclusive engagement models, value-oriented business frameworks and strengthened governance and capability building. By synthesising these insights, the article contributes to a deeper understanding of how digital entrepreneurship can support sustainable transformation in healthcare and enhance both clinical performance and patient centred outcomes
